Procurement Manager Job Overview

Purpose:

This procurement manager role involves leading the company's procurement operations, developing and implementing strategies to support production requirements and long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure systematic procurement planning and budgeting.
  • Build, develop, and manage strategic supplier relationships and partnerships.
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and risk mitigation to protect company interests.
  • Drive vendor development and price negotiations for major cost-impacting purchases.
  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals to achieve organizational goals.
  • Monitor inventory levels and open purchase orders, aligning with demand forecasts.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, components, and services.
  • Develop strong vendor partnerships and continuously monitor and improve vendor performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimize the supply chain for efficiency.
  • Support supplier qualification, audits, and evaluations in line with industry standards.

  • High integrity, detail orientation, and ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7–10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management in manufacturing or relevant sectors.
  • Proven track record of cost reduction, vendor performance management, and strategic sourcing.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience in leading teams and handling large-scale procurement budgets.
