Financial Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Compliance Specialist to manage the financial needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in UK VAT compliance and year-end accounts preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • VAT Compliance: Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT returns in compliance with UK VAT laws, including handling related queries, reconciliations, and adjustments, as well as advising clients on VAT treatment for various transactions.
  • Year-End Accounts Preparation: Prepare statutory year-end accounts in line with UK accounting standards (FRS 102, FRS 105). You'll reconcile accounts, prepare working papers, and finalize accounts for submission to regulatory bodies.
  • Client Communication: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their accounting needs, provide regular updates, and address any queries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to streamline VAT and accounts preparation. Stay updated on changes in UK tax and accounting regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in VAT compliance and year-end accounts, preferably for UK clients.
  • Strong knowledge of UK VAT laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in preparing accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or other UK-specific platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple clients efficiently.
