Roles and Responsibilities -BUSY / TALLY ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE IS MUST -GST Compliance -Day-to-day accounting -Accounts finalisation-Accounting & Taxation - Other-Industry Type: Accounting / Auditing Department: Finance & AccountingKey Responsibilities1. General Ledger Management Oversee the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and discrepancies are identified and resolved. Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy and proper classification in accordance with GAAP. 2. Month-End and Year-End Close Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements for accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management and stakeholders. Assist in the development and implementation of closing procedures to improve efficiency. 3. Financial Reporting Prepare and analyze internal and external financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses. Collaborate with the finance team to prepare management reports, budget vs. actual reports, and forecasts. Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, where applicable. 4. Budgeting and Forecasting Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities. Analyze trends and variances to identify opportunities for improvement. Work closely with department heads to gather data and explain financial results. 5. Compliance and Internal Controls Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by staying informed on existing and new legislation. Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and to mitigate risk. Assist in coordinating external and internal audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries. 6. Tax and Regulatory Filing Support Assist with the preparation and filing of tax documents in collaboration with external tax advisors. Maintain compliance with sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings as required. 7. Process Improvement Evaluate current accounting practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements. Implement best practices to streamline accounting processes, enhance accuracy, and reduce cycle times. 8. Team Support and Leadership Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Review work completed by staff accountants for accuracy and compliance with standards.
