The Head of Ecommerce is a strategic leader who oversees the full Profit and Loss (P&L) for the region, setting ambitious revenue, margin, and customer acquisition cost (CAC)/lifetime value (LTV) targets.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and executing a comprehensive growth strategy across Direct-to-Consumer (D2C), marketplaces, offline, and emerging channels to drive business expansion.
- Forecasting demand and managing end-to-end inventory to ensure minimal stock-outs and optimal aging stock levels, resulting in improved operational efficiency.
- Defining product-market fit, localizing hero SKUs, crafting new-product roadmaps, and sunsetting low-return-on-investment (ROI) lines to optimize product offerings.
- Collaborating with Research and Development (R&D) to adapt formulations for regional regulations and sensorial preferences, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Orchestrating 360-degree marketing—performance, influencer, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Public Relations (PR)—to allocate budgets for maximum return on ad spend (ROAS).
- Establishing data pipelines and dashboards to track cohorts, repeat rates, marketplace rankings in real-time, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making.
- Negotiating with Third-Party Logistics (3PLs), payment partners, and duty consultants to optimize landed costs and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Recruiting, mentoring, and performance-managing cross-functional teams (growth, operations, Customer Success, retail, trade) to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Championing customer obsession by mining Voice of Customer (VOC) insights to feed product updates and customer experience enhancements, driving customer loyalty and retention.
- Driving strategic partnerships with wellness chains, tourism boards, Ayurveda clinics to amplify reach and expand the customer base.
- Ensuring legal and tax compliance, including cosmetics claims, import duties, and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)-like mandates, maintaining a strong reputation and minimizing risk.
