Acquisition and Liaison Specialist

This is a senior-level position within our organization that requires strong leadership and management skills.

The Acquisition and Liaison Specialist will be responsible for leading and managing all acquisition and liaison activities for transmission line projects. This includes identifying and acquiring necessary easements, resolving disputes and grievances related to land acquisition and compensation, and maintaining accurate documentation of agreements, records, and approvals.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of laws and regulations related to land acquisition and compensation. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with government officials, local communities, and internal teams.

This role requires a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in acquisition and liaisoning, preferably in the power transmission sector. A graduate degree in Law, Land Management, or a related field is also highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquisition Management: Identify and acquire necessary easements through direct engagement with landowners, local bodies, and government agencies; Serve notices, assess crop and land compensation to effective land/tower owners;
  • Liaison & Statutory Clearances: Liaise with government officials for DLVC & section 16 orders; Ensure compliance with sections of the Electricity Act and other relevant regulations; Coordinate with EPC contractors and internal teams for technical and legal documentation required for clearances;
  • Project Coordination & Support: Align acquisition and clearance timelines with project execution schedules; Support site teams during foundation, erection, and stringing activities by ensuring easement availability; Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports;
  • Risk & Stakeholder Management: Identify risks in acquisition and liaison processes; develop mitigation strategies; Build and maintain relationships with local communities, panchayats, and government officials; Represent the organization in public hearings, stakeholder meetings, and regulatory forums.
