Academic Director for Product Design

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to join our team as Academic Director for Product Design.

  • Develop and implement strategic programs for product design that align with the school's mission and vision.
  • Supervise and support faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development ensuring they meet industry standards.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the design school and beyond to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students.
  • Oversee student recruitment efforts working closely with the career advancement service team to attract top talent.
  • Effectively manage department resources to optimize efficiency and drive growth.
  • Establish partnerships with industry experts for various academe engagements like teaching, master classes, conferences/symposiums, and design festivals.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in industrial design from an accredited institution.
  • Total 15+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years experience in an academic leadership role within a design school setting.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
