We are seeking a highly skilled HPC Infrastructure Specialist to join our team.
This role will involve designing and implementing high-performance computing solutions from scratch, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand compute workload and translate it into platform architecture and designs that meet business needs.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with Linux system administration, hardware/software configuration, and HPC technologies including cluster computing, high-speed interconnects, and parallel file systems.
Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in automation tools like Ansible, Chef, Salt-Stack, and scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing HPC infrastructure solutions, including compute, networking, storage, and workload management components.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand compute workload and translate it into platform architecture and designs that meet business needs.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate hardware and software components for HPC environments.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining HPC systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
- Developing and implementing automation scripts for system management and deployment.
- Being a subject matter expert to unblock dependent teams in the HPC domain.
- Developing system benchmarks, profiling systems to understand bottlenecks, optimizing workflows and processes to improve cost of ownership.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks and issues throughout the HPC development life cycle.
- Ensuring that Compute Cluster is resilient, reliable, and maintainable.
- Staying abreast of the latest HPC technologies, including hardware, software, and networking solutions.
Requirements:
- In-depth experience with Linux system administration and hardware/software configuration.
- Strong knowledge of HPC technologies including cluster computing, high-speed interconnects, and parallel file systems.
- Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible, Chef, Salt-Stack, and scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Experience in creating and maintaining operating system images with different installation and boot schemes.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in HPC cluster management and workload orchestration software.
- Experience in setting up deep-learning training/inference solutions.
- Experience in private cloud infrastructure like Kubernetes, OpenStack, CloudStack, etc.
- Good knowledge of low-latency and high-throughput data transfer technologies.
