Job Description

As a seasoned Culinary Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of your section, ensuring seamless execution of dishes and exceptional guest experiences. Your leadership skills will be put to the test as you direct and coach your team members, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs and supervises team members in their designated sections.
  • Ensures that all dishes are prepared according to company recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintains high levels of food safety and sanitation within your section.
  • Coordinates and supervises team members, assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities accordingly.
  • Undertakes daily recipe reviews, maintaining immaculate condition of recipe folders.
  • Responsible for follow-through on any request from direct supervisors or managers.
  • Controls production levels and recommends ideas for improvements.
  • Prepares daily electronic requisitions and counterchecks deliveries for accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Chef Tournant (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary school degree required.
  • Excellent management, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Intermediate computer software skills required.
Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service and at least 2 years as Chef Tournant (shipboard experience preferred).

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and train their team members.
