Senior Oracle Database Migration Strategist

Job Description:

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to lead our database migration efforts.

As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end migration lifecycle across assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.

You will define and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices to ensure successful migrations, minimal downtime, and seamless delivery across all phases of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end migration lifecycle
  • Define and drive migration strategy
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations
  • Perform end-to-end database backup and recovery
  • Implement delta data synchronization strategies
  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager for database performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and application owners
  • Document migration runbooks and rollback procedures

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Oracle Database experience
  • 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration and migration
  • Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration
  • RMAN for backup/recovery and delta sync
  • OEM for monitoring and migration validation

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication
  • Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for IaC-based DB provisioning
