Sr. Oracle Exadata DBA Job Description

Oracle Exadata Database Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the availability and consistent performance of critical Oracle RDBMS systems, including Exadata and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement, configure, maintain, and optimize Oracle Exadata systems (compute nodes, storage cells, InfiniBand)
  • Manage Oracle databases on OCI, including provisioning, patching, backup, and recovery
  • Lead end-to-end cloud migration initiatives from on-premises to OCI
  • Design high availability and disaster recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate)
  • Monitor and tune performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL tuning tools
  • Automate database operations using scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible)
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and application teams for hybrid and cloud-native deployments
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Required Skills:
  • Minimum 8 years of production database support
  • Hands-on experience supporting large-scale database environments
  • Proven experience with Oracle Exadata systems
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Multitenant
  • Working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate and Data Guard
  • Experience working in UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloud Migration Experience:
  • Proven experience in migrating Oracle databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Strong understanding of data value, data protection strategies, and database security
