Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned database administrator to oversee the setup and maintenance of MS SQL environments. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Always ON and Failover Cluster configurations, as well as expertise in transaction replication, link servers, and database patching.

  • Monitor generated log files indicating errors that result in incidents
  • Manage database log replication and report status as per agreed schedules
  • Session/Query/Log/Latch monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Purging database logs and trace files
  • Review and maintain consistent configurations
  • Review and recommend measures to maintain availability
  • Monthly report on database availability
  • Tuning DB parameters for optimal performance
  • Correlate related incidents into problem tickets and manage through the problem management process
  • Use trend analysis to identify, detail, categorize, prioritize and create Problems Management Records
  • Restore databases from backups
  • Support SQL DB teams for handling critical issues
  • Handle end-to-end major incidents and communicate with customers on production issues
  • Create jobs/job schedules for routine/Maintenance jobs & Rebuild indexes
