We're seeking a Backend Architect to join our team, helping us build scalable and efficient systems that power our consumer and partner experiences.

Job Description

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the backbone of our services: APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and infrastructure. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality products.

  • Design and develop robust backend components, APIs, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to architect data flows across various storage solutions.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Develop search and vector ranking capabilities.
  • Set up monitoring and observability tools.
  • Maintain awareness of data regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Containerize solutions for scalability and flexibility.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend engineering and system architecture.
  • Strong understanding of data flows, infrastructure, and integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in REST APIs, backend/frontend integration, and secrets management.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, caching, object storage, and streaming systems.
  • Familiarity with containerization, serverless environments, CDNs, and WAFs.
  • Knowledge of hybrid/vector search and ranking approaches.
  • Working knowledge of PII/PHI/GDPR handling in production systems.
  • Experience with data modeling, ML pipelines, or applied machine learning in production systems.
