We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to lead the design and management of scalable web/mobile application backend architecture. This role demands expertise with Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB for building high-performance backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the entire backend architecture for a scalable app from planning to deployment.
  • Develop user authentication and authorization systems using industry best practices.
  • Implement logic, user discovery algorithms, and preference-based filters.
  • Build chat and messaging system with Firebase for real-time messaging and delivery/read receipts.
  • Integrate Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications on multiple platforms.
  • Design and manage MongoDB schema optimized for matchmaking and chat use cases.
  • Ensure secure API access using HTTPS and role-based access controls.
  • Handle media uploads via cloud storage securely.
  • Implement analytics hooks for key user actions and behavior tracking.
  • Build admin APIs for user moderation and reporting.
  • Monitor and maintain API performance and database health.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to set up CI/CD, monitoring, and auto-scaling backend infrastructure.
  • Manage environment configurations securely with secrets handling.
  • Build fallback systems to handle network failure and retries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience in backend development with Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of token-based authentication and security practices.
  • Experience building scalable real-time chat or messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage and services.
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring, and application scaling.
