The Director of Sports is responsible for leading the development and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the sports department, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
  • Oversee sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Manage sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance, utilization, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels, providing guidance on skills development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Cultivate a culture of fitness and sportsmanship through collaboration with coaches, trainers, and faculty, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports, enhancing the overall well-being of students and staff.
  • Evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, ethical sports practices, and institutional policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field, demonstrating expertise in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
  • At least 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management, showcasing leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams, leveraging modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on team building, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.
  • A record of representing the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or State and/or National championships, showcasing institutional pride and achievement.
