Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Chef De Partie to join our culinary team. As a key member of the galley, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities in a particular workstation, ensuring seamless food preparation and service.

About the Role

This is an entry-level position that requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to train and monitor entry-level cooks and chefs, providing on-the-job training to strengthen their performance and prepare them for potential advancement to promotional positions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and coordinate activities in a particular workstation, ensuring timely and efficient food preparation and service.

  3. Conduct daily inventory of items in the workstation storage, determining day's food requirements and preparing requisitions for approval.
  4. Apply HACCP and sanitation standards, complying with international itinerary and shipboard policies.
  5. Operate equipment according to standard operating procedures, reporting any out-of-order equipment directly to supervisors.
  6. Collaborate with galley personnel to ensure effective teamwork and productivity.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 4-6 years' experience in upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service.
  • Prior experience as Chef De Partie/Demi Chef De Partie is advantageous.
  • Culinary school degree required.
  • Strong management skills in multicultural and dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing personalized services, including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Intermediate computer software skills required.
