Senior Wealth Underwriter Role Overview

This is a leadership position that focuses on managing wealth underwriting initiatives and deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables, contributing to large-scale planning related to wealth underwriting.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate borrower financial data for moderately complex high-net-worth loans to determine credit worthiness and monitor existing portfolios to identify issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors; present recommendations for resolving moderately complex situations.
  • Independently resolve moderately complex business, operational, or technical issues and lead teams to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of wealth underwriting functional area policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop a solid understanding of home lending policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements for wealth investment management client mortgages as needed.
  • Collaborate and consult with wealth underwriting peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; serve as a mentor for lower-level staff.
  • Provide input to assist leaders with credit risk management decisions to ensure satisfactory credit portfolio risk examinations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in wealth underwriting, including reviewing and analyzing financial data for high-net-worth loans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving business objectives.
