A Senior Clinical Underwriter will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of underwriting workflows that prioritize customer centricity and technological enablement.

This role involves applying clinical expertise to decision-making, evaluating prevailing underwriting practices, analyzing data to inform guideline revisions, and aligning with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage underwriting processes, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and timelines.
  • Evaluate clinical information from historical claims data to inform underwriting decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new policies and guidelines based on utilization trends and clinical analysis.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes as needed.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Doctoral degree (MBBS preferred or equivalent) with 10-15 years of experience in medical underwriting in health insurance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and good judgment.
  • The ability to make quick decisions, think creatively, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • A willingness to embrace change and lead the team through transformation initiatives.
