Virtual Legal Counsel Job Description

As a Virtual Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice to clients on contract drafting and negotiation. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their requirements and gather detailed briefs for drafting contracts and agreements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract law and drafting principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in legal software and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and gather detailed briefs for drafting contracts and agreements.
  • Provide clear instructions and frameworks to ensure the accuracy and relevance of drafts.
  • Review and QC contracts drafted by junior associates for compliance, accuracy, and alignment with client requirements.
  • Identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Train junior associates on effective drafting techniques, legal language, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular workshops or mentoring sessions to improve the team's drafting skills and efficiency.
  • Develop and refine internal workflows for drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts to improve turnaround time.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards and guidelines for contract drafting.
