Our organization is seeking an accomplished Import Ocean Freight Head to spearhead and manage our import ocean freight operations.

Job Summary:
  • We are looking for a highly skilled professional to lead and manage our import ocean freight operations, focusing on pricing strategies, negotiations with carriers, and building strong relationships with shipping lines, co-loaders, and overseas agents.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Pricing and Negotiation Strategies: Develop comprehensive pricing strategies, negotiate rates with carriers, and maintain robust relationships with shipping lines, co-loaders, and overseas agents.
  2. Import Operations Management: Oversee pre-alerts, booking coordination, documentation, customs compliance, and end-to-end import shipment handling.
  3. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the import operations team – allocate resources, set KPIs, monitor performance, and provide ongoing training.
  4. Cost Control and Budgeting: Monitor departmental P&L, ensure cost control, and prepare regular budgets.
  5. Collaboration and Customer Service: Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely cargo clearance and delivery, maintain high standards of customer service, promptly resolving issues and ensuring consistent client satisfaction.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of international import practices, customs clearance procedures, documentation, and INCOTERMS.
  • Excellent leadership and people management abilities.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
