Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems for various applications, including data centres, industrial, municipal and pharma sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification and at least 7 years of experience in designing electrical systems. You should have expertise in electrical design tools such as ETAP and Power Factory, as well as strong communication skills for presentations to clients.

The role requires project management skills, with experience working in a multi-disciplinary team to develop conceptual, feasibility and final designs for water treatment projects. Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards and regulations is essential.

You should have the ability to analyze complex electrical system requirements, perform calculations, identify potential issues and propose effective solutions. Strong detail-oriented work style and an accommodating and proactive attitude are also required.

In addition, knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit and MicroStation would be an advantage. A Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems for various applications
  • Develop technical specifications, datasheets and reports for procurement and construction
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing and commissioning phases
  • Ensure all electrical designs adhere to national and international standards
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • At least 7 years of experience in designing electrical systems
