Job Summary:

The Production Product Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination of garment production, quality control, and delivery.

This role involves overseeing process enhancements, performance monitoring, and coordinating with teams to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories based on market trends and design specifications.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop product lines including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality.
  • Review and approve samples to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Planning and Scheduling

  • Develop yearly and monthly production plans with timelines based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times.
  • Plan and allocate resources, including materials and labor, to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure materials and resources are available for production, monitor production progress, and proactively address any issues or delays to meet delivery deadlines.

Vendor Management

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of goods.
  • Identify and select suppliers and manufacturers based on quality, price, and lead time.

Costing and Budgeting

  • Prepare cost estimates for products, including materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure profitability.
  • Manage budgets and track expenses to ensure production costs stay within budget.

Quality Control

  • Establish quality standards and guidelines for production to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of production to identify areas for improvement.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of materials to avoid production delays.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, fashion merchandising, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product sourcing and development.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
