Job Role:

Senior SQL Server Database Administrator – Azure

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Subscription management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Administration and Management
  2. Azure SQL Subscription Services Planning, Implementation, and Oversight
  3. Database Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Indexing, and Monitoring
  4. Disaster Recovery, Backups, and High Availability Solutions Configuration and Maintenance
  5. Security Policy Implementation, Access Controls, and Compliance Standards Monitoring
  6. Database Migration from On-Premises SQL Server to Azure SQL
  7. Collaboration with Development and DevOps Teams for CI/CD and Database Lifecycle Management
  8. Production Issue Monitoring and Troubleshooting, Proactive Addressing of Database Health and Capacity Concerns
  9. Documentation, Runbooks, and Best Practices Development and Maintenance

Required Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
  2. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Subscription management
  3. Strong experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting database issues
  4. Deep knowledge of T-SQL, backup/recovery, replication, indexing, and security configurations
  5. Proven experience with migration projects from on-premises SQL Server to Azure
  6. Familiarity with Azure services like Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, and Azure Automation
  7. Understanding of licensing and cost management for Azure SQL resources
  8. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification
  2. Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
  3. Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD pipelines related to database deployments
  4. Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments

Work Environment:

  • Fully remote role; candidates must be located in India
  • Flexible work hours with occasional availability needed for collaboration across international teams
