Job Title: Land Acquisition SpecialistAbout the Position:We are seeking a skilled Land Acquisition Specialist to oversee land acquisition activities for wind projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a land pool for under-construction wind projects and a pipeline for the organization.Key Accountabilities:
  • Support project development activities, collaborating with different departments for land acquisition and related tasks for wind projects.
  • Identify suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • Ensure adherence to statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other approvals.
  • Assess risks in land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Lead legal due diligence (DD) and documentation with internal/external lawyers, ensuring clear and marketable title of potential lands before acquisition.
  • Participate in drafting, finalization, and execution of Sale/Lease Deeds and agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, project management, legal, and finance, for seamless land acquisition.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Handle interactions with local agencies and stakeholders for smooth acquisition and usage of lands until commissioning.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to land acquisition and usage across pan-India locations.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders for successful implementation.
  • Obtain various approvals like AAI NOC, MoD NOC, and other relevant approvals.
Our Ideal Candidate:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Land Acquisition Specialist with a strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects and land acquisition.Requirements:
  • Significant experience in land acquisition involving Revenue/Private/Forest Land, exploring site acquisitions, preparing valuation reports, and negotiating land acquisition.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in Land procurement/acquisition for Wind and/or solar projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for team members, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to execute land procurement targets, plans, and project development activities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges in land acquisition and project development.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability principles.
