About This Opportunity
The position of Head of Fundraising is a critical role within our organization. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that drives growth and revenue for our philanthropic efforts.
This is an entrepreneurial leadership role that requires a driven and empathetic individual who can work across boundaries and achieve results. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and augmenting a national network of diverse donor support for organizations in the social sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a roadmap and strategy for our fundraising initiatives with clear short-, medium-, and long-term objectives based on a shared vision of desired outcomes.
- Develop a national network of diverse supporters strengthening our existing relationships and adding new champions and donors.
- Buid a diverse portfolio approach to fund raising to ensure effort and target distribution across different kinds of sources.
- Proactively execute multiple aspects of the plan engaging high net worth individuals, corporations, foundations, and other pertinent entities.
- Work closely with Foundation Leaders to put in place and in use an effective fund channelization and utilization process along with clear measures to determine net value added in the targeted thematic areas.
- Keep initiative teams informed on emergent trends and outlook in terms of long standing partnership and/or support commitments to ensure that our operating designs are simple, relevant, and practicable in terms of measurable impact.
- Use the understanding of leading-edge philanthropic pipeline and cause-related marketing management to drive related funding endeavors across different thematic areas.
- Work with cross-functional teams to continually identify opportunities for enrichment and augmentation of fundraising opportunities and impact.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly organized individual with strong project management skills, interpersonal skills, and an executive presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master's degree in business, Social Sciences, or another related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience of having worked in a direct fundraising and partnership role with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Experience with social or development sector organizations would be preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and comfort with the ambiguity of the fundraising universe.
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time-zones.
- Ability to stretch limits to meet deadlines and time-bound goals for self and team members.
- Outstanding leadership capabilities, ability to communicate a compelling vision, and drive results while developing a strong team.
- Adaptable with a penchant for innovation and a keen eye for emergent trends, regulatory environment, and fast-evolving policy context with willingness to learn on the fly.
