Senior Petrophysicist Role

Job Summary:

  • As a senior petrophysicist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality subsurface descriptions by integrating geological and engineering data.
  • With advanced technical and business skills, you will develop appropriate subsurface scenarios to characterise and communicate subsurface uncertainties.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree (MA, MSc or PhD) in geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering or relevant science-based curriculum.
  • 12 years of relevant petrophysics experience in an integrated oil and gas company, working in exploration, field appraisal, development, production or well planning.
Benefits:
  • Highly proficient in a well log interpretation package, ideally Techlog and Petrel.
  • Experience with most cased and open hole logging tools and interpretation methods, including advanced logs such as image logs, NMR, tri-axial resistivity, formation pressures, fluid sample acquisition and analysis.
Others:
  • Able to construct a rock type description to match to, and predict from, log-based measurements.
  • Skilled in characterising and communicating subsurface uncertainty, risk and value.
