Job Title: Apprentice

The primary objective of this role is to assist and learn from experienced engineers in various aspects of facility maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections of all engineering equipment, identifying and reporting any abnormalities.
  • Record and monitor operating parameters of equipment, highlighting potential issues for rectification.
  • Regularly check and record temperature across the facility as per schedule.
  • Efficiently switch on and switch off HVAC machines and lighting where applicable.
  • Verify that only necessary equipment is operational and identify opportunities for energy savings.
  • Monitor and record energy meter readings and fuel storage stock levels.
  • Address technical complaints in a timely manner and implement approved work permits for rectification.
  • Participate in in-house preventive maintenance activities according to PM Planner and safety guidelines.
Requirements:

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A strong foundation in mechanical or electrical engineering principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of relevant software.
