About the Role

The Category Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 8-10 members in charge of buying national and regional FMCG brands. This includes conducting training sessions and grooming team members to ensure their growth and development.

  • This role involves leading a team, coordinating with various departments such as Store Operations, Supply Chain, and Purchase to maximize sales and promotions in stores.
  • Key responsibilities include discussing and finalizing monthly and quarterly plans with FMCG vendors, including demand planning, promotions, and smooth supplies to stores.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing category inventory levels to meet business requirements.
  • Ensuring availability of products in DC and stores on a daily basis.
  • Maintaining competitive pricing in the market.
Requirements
  • A graduate or postgraduate degree in any field is required, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in FMCG sales.
  • Prior experience in general trade is preferred.
  • Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are necessary for this role.
  • Team management and training skills are also essential, as the candidate will be responsible for managing a large team and training new members.
