Category Specialist

Job Summary:

  • The Category Specialist will oversee Vendor Sourcing and Management, including new vendor onboarding, scheduling, buying/ordering, timely payments, and debits as per process.
  • They will also manage working relationships with existing vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the assigned Category and related product/merchandise selection, including identifying products, offers, and negotiating best rates.
  • Analysis of consumption patterns across various geographies to ensure profitable growth for the categories.
  • Inventory Control, Team Management, Conduct Competition benchmarking and market visits.
  • Data analysis, planning, forecasting, Sales growth, product enhancement, product lifecycle management.
  • He/She will manage a team of officers/promoters and must be an excellent Team Manager, preparing and presenting reports, and requiring travel.

Requisites:

  • A Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 Years experience in FMCG (Sales GT background)/General Merchandising Product base industry (sales background) with good understanding of Category.
  • Communication, negotiation, planning, delegation, coordination, follow-up, and team Handling skills, able to hand hold and groom team members.
  • Good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders require good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in excel is necessary.
