This position involves monitoring market trends and supply-demand dynamics, executing trades, and developing relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor domestic and international markets for price trends and supply-demand dynamics.
- Execute buy/sell trades in physical or derivatives markets.
- Create and analyse spread/arbitrage opportunities.
- Develop client relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Analyse weather patterns, crop reports, and global trade data.
- Manage logistics, warehousing, and delivery schedules.
- Mitigate risk using hedging strategies.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations and quality standards.
- Provide inputs to procurement teams on price outlook and procurement planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of agricultural markets and commodities.
- Understanding of trading platforms and exchanges.
- Data analysis and market intelligence skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Able to thrive in high-pressure environments.
