Job Opportunity: Technical Manager - EHV, HV Cable Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team. This is a full-time role with a global client where you will be responsible for designing cables for EHV and HV applications.

  • Must have extensive experience in EHV or HV cable design.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Cable Design: Perform technical reviews of sourcing requests from internal customers, design cables for EHV and HV applications, and support internal customers to optimize their sourcing requests based on Supply Chain Partner capabilities.
  • Technical Clarifications: Review cable inquiries from customers and convert them into cable sourcing requests, perform technical clarifications with Supply Chain Partners, conduct short-circuit calculations using Excel to determine the required wire screen/metal sheath size.
  • Ampacity Calculations: Perform ampacity calculations using CYMCAP to define/verify conductor sizes, calculate drum lengths using an Excel-based tool, verify technical data sheets from Supply Chain Partners.
  • Quality Control: Check and record prequalification and type test coverage of cables offered by suppliers, ensure documents made available to external customers align with the Supply Chain Partner marketing strategy, develop Quality Control Plans and Inspection Test Plans with Supply Chain Partners.
  • Contract Preparation: Prepare the technical portion of contracts, review and accept Quality Records from suppliers, witness in-process, routine, and sample tests, prepare type tests.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree preferably in electrical engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a related field.
