Electrical and Instrumentation Expert

Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This will involve implementing effective engineering practices to meet or exceed maintenance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of departmental activities related to instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations related to nucleonic gauges, including acting as a radiological safety officer.
- Coordinating timely compliance with instrumentation and electrical requirements, including weights and measure metrology and GPCB-related tasks.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC systems, including Control Logix, PLANT PAX, FT BATCH, SCADA, and LOGIC programming.
- Proficiency in SAP and SAP Plant Maintenance module, including notification and work order management.
- Knowledge of filter press hydraulic systems, spray dryer burner systems, boiler burners, and safety interlocking systems.
- Ensuring timely calibration of field instruments, MCI, and measuring devices.
- Guiding subordinates in repairing equipment and maintaining it for use as needed.
- Ensuring proper and safe operation of equipment during maintenance and calibration.
- Installing, commissioning, and validating new equipment, including mechanical support designing and fabrication through vendors.
- Sizing and selecting appropriate instruments, including mass flow meters, pressure transmitters, thermocouples, magnetic flowmeters, pH meters, turbidity meters, conductivity meters, ozone generators, weighing systems, and more.
- Configuring telephone EPBX systems, CCTV systems, and other technologies.
- Planning and coordinating the use of contract manpower, assigning tasks daily, and ensuring safe maintenance practices.
- Planning, scheduling, and executing shutdown maintenance jobs.
- Supporting the control of maintenance costs, analyzing breakdowns, preparing CAPA reports, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborating with external vendors and other departments to promote teamwork and coordination.
- Estimating costs for equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement.
- Participating in EHSQ and GMP-related activities as assigned.
- Meeting applicable EHS legal and Evonik requirements.
- Ensuring safe maintenance practices by adhering to EHS policy, Life Saving Rules, Work Permit procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment usage.
- Maintaining documents such as Equipment History Cards, Maintenance Checklists, Reports to Management, Standard Practice Instructions, and ISO-related materials.
- Actively participating in conceptualization, execution, and commissioning of projects.
- Ensuring spare availability by collaborating with the Purchase department and Engineering Stores to implement the Min/Max system for spares.
- Preparing Appropriation Requests for major expenditures.
- Providing training on SAP Maintenance Module to new joiners in the department.
- Leading digitalization initiatives, including OT security and global policy implementation.
