Job Title

Application Support Specialist

The role involves providing technical assistance and support to internal teams, ensuring the smooth operation of business-critical applications. This is a hands-on position that requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first-point-of-contact for incident resolution and service requests.
  • Take ownership of assigned issues, ensuring timely acknowledgment, regular updates, and resolution within agreed-upon targets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of problems and incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of business applications, staying up-to-date on system developments and enhancements.

  • Proven experience in application support and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, take ownership, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, resilient mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality support and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in application support or similar role.
  • Experience working with operating systems, ERP systems, databases (SQL), and cloud-based applications.
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate ideal.

  • Highly adaptable and proactive individual with a willingness to step in and support team coverage during peak periods or absences.
  • Strong customer and stakeholder orientation, active listening skills, and ability to respond effectively to queries and feedback.
  • Self-motivated and flexible individual able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new system releases, ensuring readiness and user impact assessment.
