A crucial role within an organization, the Accounts Receivable Specialist oversees timely debt collection from customers or clients.

This position works closely with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing effective strategies for outstanding debts, ensuring a high rate of success.
  • Regularly monitoring accounts to identify overdue payments and determine appropriate actions, minimizing losses and maximizing recoveries.
  • Communicating effectively with customers or clients to negotiate payment plans and resolve issues or disputes, maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Cordinating with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve billing and payment-related inquiries.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all collection activities, including customer interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Analyzing delinquent accounts and preparing reports on the overall status of collections.
  • Implementing and enforcing credit policies and procedures to minimize risk of late payments or non-payment.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CS) designation.
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly as they relate to accounts receivable and collections.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and trends.
  • Familiarity with collection software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
