About the Role

This is a highly technical position that involves troubleshooting and resolving issues for global customers and networks within a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center. As a member of the NOC team, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing network performance, identifying and resolving issues in real-time, and providing timely updates to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to front-line staff who monitor and troubleshoot network issues.
  • Action includes recruiting, hiring, managing, scheduling, mentoring, and training technical staff.
  • Leading staff responsible for acting on customer trouble reports, generating trouble tickets, and performing follow-ups with customers.
  • Oversee NOC floor operations, including scheduling and troubleshooting network alarms using industry-standard monitoring tools.
  • Manage day-to-day NOC floor operations and ensure proper shift handover within rotational shifts.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and issues by recording details of events in the ticketing system and keeping customers informed on problem resolution.
  • Ensure all faults or abnormal behavior in the network are tracked through Trouble Ticket/Fault Ticket, assigned to the right person at the right time, and resolved within Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Operational Level Agreements (OLA).
  • Lead efforts to reconfigure and restore network equipment, review network problems through real-time monitoring, initiate repair work, and reconfigurations.
  • Communicate technical concepts, define projects, and maintenance efforts in written and verbal presentation formats; coordinate large numbers of activities and assignments.
  • Create tickets using Remedy for symptoms and affected network elements per defined procedures.
  • Organize, document troubleshooting processes into standard operating procedures and serve as a point of contact for escalations.
  • Work closely with customers, vendors, and peers to gather information, report progress, and close tickets per defined procedures.
  • Open bridges during calamities/critical issues in the network and send incident communication to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all tickets are closed with proper and realistic closure codes within agreed timelines.
  • Responsible for sending timely incident update messages/mails to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Assign each new NOC engineer a mentor to ensure they receive guidance and training on a personal level.
  • Coordinate contingency plan implementation activities for the NOC.
  • Ensure all on-duty NOC engineers are properly trained and equipped to perform their roles.
  • Monitor the Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR) trend and own actions to reduce it.
