Financial Operations Assistant

The Financial Operations Assistant is a key role in supporting our finance and operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

This position requires strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation rules. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with our leadership team to ensure financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant.

Responsibilities:
  • Bookkeeping Management: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with Australian accounting standards.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with BAS, GST, and other tax-related filings.
  • Payroll Processing: Process payroll and superannuation contributions (if required).
  • Financial Reporting: Support month-end and year-end closing activities and work with accountants to prepare financial reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (Australian clients or companies preferred).
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of BAS, GST, superannuation, and other Australian compliance requirements.
  • Communication: Fluent English (written and verbal). Clear, professional, and confident communicator.
  • Work Style: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Mindset: Sharp, analytical, and proactive problem-solver.
