Job Title: GitLab Expert

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the current infrastructure to determine requirements for implementing enterprise-grade version control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement architecture and security standards.
  • Install, configure, and manage scalable infrastructure for GitLab.
  • Configure access controls and security settings for optimal performance.
  • Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using enterprise-grade tools.
  • Provide training and support to team members on efficient use of GitLab features.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with infrastructure and version control systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for GitLab setup and usage.
  • Recommend best practices for container orchestration and automation.
  • Provision and manage Windows and Linux instances as required.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on infrastructure.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Enable advanced security features such as Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST).
  • Create and implement security policies on GitLab.
  • Configure backups and disaster recovery plans for business continuity.
  • Implement Single Sign-On authentication and email delivery capabilities.
  • Migrate data from previous self-managed GitLab instance to a cloud-based solution.
  • Develop deployment pipelines with incremental delivery capabilities.
  • Set up monitoring and alerting for the platform.
  • Perform security hardening of the GitLab instance.
  • Configure data retention policies for compliance.
  • Contribute to deployment operations and set up encryption for databases and software artifacts.
  • Set up webhooks for administrative tasks and create automated workflows.
  • Establish the required GitLab Runner infrastructure for CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in GitLab administration and configuration management.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and containerization.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture and security standards.
  • Ability to work closely with development teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Excellent communication and training skills to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
