Job Description:

The Sales Manager / Sr. Manager Specialty Chemicals will oversee key account management, contract renewals, and maximize value from current business partners.

The role focuses on ensuring long-term retention, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction by nurturing relationships with existing clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage relationships with key domestic and international clients to ensure consistent engagement and satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all client requirements, technical support, and issue resolution.
  • Understand client businesses, processes, and evolving needs to propose tailored chemical solutions.
  • Drive contract renewals, long-term agreements, and annual business discussions with clients.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales volume, product penetration, and wallet share within existing accounts.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements while maintaining profitability.
  • Collaborate with clients on joint projects, new applications, and process improvements.
  • Work closely with production, supply chain, R&D, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide inputs to R&D for product modifications or new formulations as per client feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client-specific requirements.
  • Prepare periodic MIS reports on client performance, forecasts, and revenue contribution.
  • Track competitor activities within existing client base and recommend defensive strategies.
  • Share insights with leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor junior sales executives/account managers handling smaller clients.
  • Contribute to strategic sales planning and key account management strategy.
Requirements:
  • Strong expertise in key account management and client retention.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of specialty chemicals and their industrial applications.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to balance customer needs and company profitability.
  • Effective communicator with experience handling senior client stakeholders.
  • High ownership mindset and ability to manage large accounts.
