Data Engineering Leadership Role

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineering Manager to lead our Commercial Data team in Advertising. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing leading property and market data insights to power Real Commercial products.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical leader who can drive delivery practices, run agile scrum ceremonies, and produce agile artefacts. You will also mentor and coach engineers, fostering their professional growth and contributing to the design and architecture of scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end technical delivery of complex initiatives using agile methods and frameworks.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, serving as a subject matter expert in data engineering and related technologies.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.
  • Drive delivery practices, running agile scrum ceremonies, and producing agile artefacts.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering their professional growth.
Requirements:
  • 8-13 years' experience in software development.
  • Proven people leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, data pipelines, data consumption, data analysis, and documentation.
  • Experience with data warehousing and delivery approaches like Agile, Lean, and iterative releasing.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to code quality and security.

Bonus points for experience with Big Query, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Python libraries (Pandas, Requests, JSON), Docker, Kafka, Linux shell scripting, Git/GitHub, AWS (S3, Lambda, IaC), Airflow, and interacting with REST APIs.
