Job Overview:

This is a senior-level position within our in-house legal team, focusing on real estate and property law.

The role will involve the comprehensive management of property transactions, encompassing drafting, negotiation, due diligence, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and negotiate various property agreements, including leave and license agreements, lease agreements, sale deeds, MOUs, and title documents.
  • Provide critical legal support for property acquisitions, rentals, and disposals, involving due diligence and risk assessment.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant local real estate laws, including RERA, municipal, and development authority regulations.
  • Maintain effective liaison with external counsels, government bodies, and regulatory authorities on property-related matters.
  • Manage all property registrations, stamp duty, and registration formalities.
  • Establish and maintain an accurate legal records system and contract database for all real estate transactions.
  • Conduct thorough legal due diligence of properties, including title verification and encumbrance checks.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in real estate and property law, providing timely guidance to management.

Requirements:

  • LLB degree with 4–10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Substantial exposure to real estate, property law, and conveyancing.
  • Hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating leave & license agreements, lease deeds, and sale transactions.
  • Working knowledge of RERA, municipal, and development authority regulations.
  • Proven ability to handle property registrations, title verification, stamp duty, and due diligence processes.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to liaise with government authorities and external counsel.
  • Strong stakeholder management and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent English proficiency (verbal and written).
  • Flexibility to contribute to other legal workstreams beyond property/conveyance when required.
