This position involves providing legal advice on a broad range of issues, influencing strategic decision-making.
You will be a key member of the Legal leadership team, working closely with the Group Chief Legal Officer (GCLO) in all aspects of legal affairs. This role requires significant interaction with senior management, providing advice on various legal issues, managing outside counsel relationships, and leading internal teams.
- Lead equity deals and ensure closure of deals and any outstanding issues with the other party.
- Manage the contracts function from the Legal team, including drafting, negotiations, and finalization of contracts with third-party EPC vendors, suppliers, consultants, etc.
- Defend indemnity claims related to corporate funding/sale of assets transactions, draft responses to indemnity notices, and support the Corporate Finance team in SPV governance.
- Support in decision-making for strategic litigations and lead strategic litigations as per the advice of the GCLO/management.
The ideal candidate should have a law graduate degree from a reputable law school and work experience of around 15+ years in multinational companies, preferably in power/infrastructure/energy sectors.
A mix of in-house and law firm experience is desirable.
The successful candidate will have sound commercial understanding of power/energy business and government tenders/projects.
- Team player with ability to successfully engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
