Contracts Negotiator Role

Detailed Description

The position of a Contracts Negotiator is pivotal in supporting the legal function by streamlining the review of commercial agreements, enhancing efficiency for revenue and sales, and ensuring smooth document handling.

This role involves drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts, maintaining accurate contract records, and building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with legal counsel and internal teams, gaining exposure to a wide range of legal and business matters.

This is more than a support role; it's a critical function that ensures compliance, document integrity, and operational excellence. Your attention to detail and proactive support will directly contribute to the legal team's ability to protect and empower the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for order forms, professional service agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, data privacy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements according to internal guidelines, utilizing the legal contracts playbook.
  • · Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • · Develop and effectively articulate creative solutions and draft appropriate alternative terms, working closely with attorneys within the Legal team, as appropriate.
  • · Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • · Educate internal teams to promote conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • · Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Legal administrative processes and legal documents (contracts, corporate records, non-disclosure agreements, data privacy agreements, etc.).
  • · Partner with other internal teams to drive process and operational improvements and ensure an extraordinary customer experience.

Requirements

• University level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions with customers or vendors.

Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification required.

Familiarity with media organizations desirable.

Must be able and willing to work 2 PM - 11 PM (IST).

Highly proficient in spoken and written English.

Experience working with commercial contract management and a good level of understanding of contract and commercial law.

Experience managing complex issues, and applying legal, financial and business principles to contracting.

Must be adept in use of digital tools, document systems, and MS Office - particularly advanced skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint.

Comfortable working as part of a cross-functional team in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
