Job Title: Legal Counsel

About this role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented legal professional to manage all legal and compliance matters for our business. This includes drafting, reviewing, and vetting legal documents, as well as preparing applications and filings.

This role involves representing the company in proceedings, coordinating with senior advocates and external legal advisors, and maintaining organized legal records and case files.

To be successful in this position, you will need strong drafting, research, and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with senior lawyers.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also need to be able to handle multiple cases and deadlines independently and provide strategic legal advice to management on various transactions and disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents
    • Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, affidavits, and applications.
  • Handling Compliance Matters
    • Handle compliance-related work across corporate, real estate, and regulatory matters.
  • Representing the Company
    • Represent the company in legal proceedings, hearings, and government offices when required.
  • Coordinating with External Advisors
    • Coordinate with senior advocates, external counsel, and consultants to ensure smooth handling of ongoing matters.
  • Maintaining Records and Providing Advice
    • Maintain organized legal records and case files.
    • Provide strategic legal advice to management on various transactions and disputes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A law degree (LLM preferred but not mandatory).
  • Enrolled as an advocate with the relevant bar council.
  • At least 3 years of experience in litigation, compliance, or corporate law (real estate exposure preferred).
  • Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory processes, property laws, and commercial law.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with senior lawyers.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines independently.
