Job Title: Cloud Database Architect

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our database strategy and implementation.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, configuring, and managing high-performance databases that ensure data availability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute database migration projects, including upgrades from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • Design and implement Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a database architect in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience migrating databases to SQL Server 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in database development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
