The Vice Chancellor role is a senior leadership position at a medical university.

This executive-level position requires the ability to lead with purpose, vision, and heart, overseeing a wide range of responsibilities including academics, research excellence, operations, financial and people leadership, student experience, success & well-being, and global partnerships.

Key duties include:

1. Strategic Academic Leadership

  • Developing and implementing strategies to align the institution with global standards and emerging trends in education and healthcare.
  • Fostering continuous improvement of curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment based on learning outcomes, technological advancements, and industry needs.

2. Research and Innovation Development

  • Cultivating a vibrant research culture by supporting faculty and students in scholarly activities, publishing, and securing research funding.
  • Strengthening institutional frameworks and administrative systems to facilitate cutting-edge research and seamless academic operations.

3. Institutional Governance and Compliance

  • Maintaining compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Overseeing the functioning of statutory bodies, such as the Academic Council, Finance Committee, and Board of Management, with a focus on governance, transparency, and accountability.

4. External Engagement and Representation

  • Representing the institution at national and international platforms to build visibility and reputation.
  • Establishing partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, research bodies, and industries to support student internships, placements, and knowledge exchange.

5. Student Success

  • Championing student welfare, mentoring, career readiness, and holistic development.
  • Crafting a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating campus environment.

Qualifications include:

A distinguished academician with teaching experience in a reputable institution within a private university system.

A medical Doctor or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from a premier institution with experience in academic education, research, curriculum development, administration, and management is required.

Minimum 10+ years of experience as a professor or equivalent positions held in a university system or reputed research or academic administrative organizations is required.
