Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with thermal management engineers to define cab climate functions and requirements from brands on driver experience and cabin climate functions.
  • Set performance targets at individual component levels for various components developed by component owners.
  • Interact with simulation analysts to analyze cooling & heating system performance virtually and plan testing verification with full vehicle teams.
  • Verify heating system test outcomes and recommend necessary actions to ensure systems run according to set requirements.
  • Secure vehicle legal and certification requirements from heating & cooling systems.
  • Lead system FMEAs for heating & cooling systems and guide DFMEAs by component owners and engineers.
  • Responsible for securing heating and cooling system end-user function requirements like cab heating functions.
  • Manage QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost & Feature) of your system.
  • Support component engineers with target component performance and durability as input to technical requirements for supplier selection and agreements.
  • Define level 4 (system) time plans including cross-functional milestones using APQP as supporting process.
  • Accountable to manage Q-Tools like D-FMEA, S-FMEA, Risk register, DFA, and DFAM.
  • Take full engineering responsibility independently deliver tasks in area and guide junior team members within Thermal Management groups.
  • Opportunities to take extended responsibilities support other system engineers to set/define system architecture for e-Mob, H2 ICE, fuel cell trucks evolution.
  • Initiate and lead Advanced Engineering work in area of responsibility.
  • Cross-functional role working in projects within Volvo GTT organization collaborating with global cross-functional teams.
