We are redefining the education management landscape through a comprehensive software-as-a-service platform designed to empower tutors and tutoring businesses. Our solution streamlines essential operations from advanced customer relationship management and profile management to standardized test preparation, automated grading, and real-time dashboards.

As we expand our product offering to include integrated payroll, proposals, whiteboarding, and AI-powered tools, we seek a Technical Architect with strong expertise in AWS and platform design.

  • You will play a pivotal role in translating high-level product vision into a scalable, maintainable technical foundation.
  • Your leadership will ensure we remain stable with 5,000+ concurrent users and cost-efficient at 100,000+ total users—all while enabling rapid product evolution.
Solution Architecture & Technical Design
  • Analyze and document the current platform architecture; identify bottlenecks and produce a formal Architecture Gap Report.
  • Translate product epics into modular service contracts, data flow diagrams, and scalable system components.
  • Decide and implement optimal architectural patterns (monolith vs. microservices, REST vs. event-driven, DB index vs. cache).
  • Drive scalable multi-tenant architecture for user/workspace models and complex permission systems.
Platform Standards & DevOps
  • Define and enforce platform-wide standards, including naming conventions, code formatting rules, ADRs, and review checklists.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to design high-availability infrastructure and auto-scaling environments on AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudFront, Cognito).
  • Own CI/CD pipelines and schema migration strategies with an emphasis on zero-downtime deployments and one-click rollbacks.
  • Monitor infrastructure spend and optimize for performance and cost; guide usage of serverless functions, queues, and caching layers.
Observability & Performance
  • Lead the implementation of observability practices using Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Ensure platform metrics are monitored with < 10% infrastructure cost waste and < 5 false positive alerts per month.
  • Design and execute load-testing scenarios replicating high-concurrency use cases.
Team Mentorship & Leadership
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, architecture clinics, and pair programming sessions.
  • Facilitate cross-team architecture reviews and ensure no major feature ships without architectural alignment.
  • Balance hands-on development (80%) with leadership duties (20%)—reviewing designs, resolving technical debates, and maintaining engineering discipline.
