Job Summary

The Database Administrator will manage and maintain core databases powering platforms like the one mentioned. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of databases while supporting day-to-day operations, deployments, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain relational database systems both on-premises and on cloud
  • Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure optimal response times using various tools
  • Evaluate data security, integrity, backup, and recovery processes are in place and regularly tested using traditional and cloud-native approaches
  • Automate routine database maintenance and deployment tasks using CI/CD pipelines
  • Support deployments by reviewing database scripts, migrations, and data patches for both on-prem and cloud environments
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues in production and non-production environments, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and cloud integration errors
  • Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas, optimize queries, and implement best practices for scalable applications
  • Implement disaster recovery and high-availability strategies such as clustering, replication, multi-AZ, and failover setups in cloud platforms
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and cloud runbooks
  • Assist in building data governance frameworks and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Support reporting and analytics teams with optimized queries and data pipelines from cloud databases

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with relational database systems, including MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization techniques
  • Understanding of data security, integrity, backup, and recovery processes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database-related issues
  • Collaboration skills to work with developers and other stakeholders
