Senior OpenShift Architect

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior OpenShift / Kubernetes Architect to design, deploy, and manage enterprise-scale OpenShift clusters.

This role involves hands-on technical implementation, documentation, and knowledge transfer. Key responsibilities include cluster deployment and architecture, security hardening, monitoring, storage integration, and high-availability Kubernetes-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement RedHat OpenShift clusters across Production and LAB environments.
  • Setup of air-gapped OCP installation on HPE infrastructure.
  • Develop High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for OCP deployment.
  • Configure networking and storage solutions for external communication and persistent storage.
  • Implement geo-redundancy and failover strategies for high-availability environments.
Security & Best Practices:
  • Apply CIS Security Hardening for Kubernetes and underlying nodes.
  • Implement RBAC, image policies, Kubernetes security policies, and certificate management.
  • Setup Ingress controllers, API server configurations, and load balancing with SSL.
Networking & Infrastructure:
  • Configure DNS, DHCP, NTP for cluster networking.
  • Integrate Kubernetes clusters with network switches and SAN storage.
  • Implement SNMP alerting and monitoring.
Storage & Logging:
  • Setup Portworx for persistent storage.
  • Deploy and configure Container Registry for image management.
  • Integrate Elasticsearch + Kibana for application logs.
  • Configure Rsyslog for node log forwarding and archival policies.
Monitoring & Observability:
  • Deploy Prometheus & Grafana dashboards for monitoring cluster resources.
  • Configure alerts for node, pod, and persistent storage.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of infra and application workloads.
Cluster Administration & Operations:
  • Perform installation, upgrades, and patching at node and Kubernetes level.
  • Manage backup & restore processes for ETCD snapshots and import/export backups.
  • Validate cluster health via test deployments and functional checks.
  • Support application deployments and ATP post-migration tests.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
  • Prepare HLD, LLD, MOPs for production deployments.
  • Provide end-to-end documentation of the deployed platform.
  • Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for internal teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Kubernetes, OpenShift, and containerized environments.
  • Strong expertise in OCP cluster deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with HPE infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Networking and Storage solutions.
  • Solid understanding of Monitoring tools and Logging solutions.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes security and Container Registry management.
  • Familiarity with application deployment using Helm.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
