Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to oversee the management of spare parts at our container service yard. This role involves ensuring optimal stock levels, arranging and assigning spares to technicians, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with vendors, and optimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain zero stockouts for reefer container spare parts (compressors, controllers, sensors, electrical spares, consumables, etc.)
  • Organize spare parts in the yard/warehouse, adhering to safety, compliance, and easy-access standards
  • Distribute spare parts to technicians with complete documentation and accountability for usage
  • Liaise with vendors for timely procurement of spare parts, negotiate for best pricing, and ensure quality compliance
  • Monitor inventory costs, reduce wastage/pilferage, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising availability
  • Log inbound/outbound stock, returned/damaged items, and generate weekly/monthly usage and cost reports
  • Conduct periodic stock checks, cycle counts, and audits to maintain 100% accuracy in records
  • Act as the single point of responsibility for all matters related to spare parts management in the yard

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years of inventory/warehouse management experience, preferably in logistics, cold chain, or container maintenance
  • Understanding of reefer container spare parts and related equipment preferred
  • Able to handle supplier negotiations and build reliable vendor relationships
  • Strong track record in reducing costs while maintaining quality and availability
  • Familiarity with ERP/inventory management systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to independently manage stock
  • Strong interpersonal and reporting skills to coordinate with technicians, procurement, and management
