Physical Education Director Position

The ideal candidate for the Physical Education Director position will have a strong background in physical education and leadership. The role involves overseeing all aspects of physical education, including teaching, administration, institution management, and external relations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching physical fitness, competitive training, and coaching, as well as curriculum development and on-ground classes.
  • Administration tasks such as forming sports committees, meeting budgets, procuring equipment, and arranging university competitions/trials.
  • Maintenance of sports facilities, reporting to the registrar, student discipline, flag hoisting, and organizing state/national inter-university tournaments.
  • Networking with external sports clubs, guiding, assisting, and securing help for promising sportspersons, as well as lectures on drug abuse, fitness, and health.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting inter-class matches, inter-collegiate tournaments, and university competitions.
  • Preparing and maintaining play fields, courts, and grounds according to physical culture committee regulations.
  • Selecting and training teams for different games and tournaments at the state/national/international level.
  • Coordinating and implementing programs chalked out by the physical culture committee in regard to sports and physical education.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education from a reputable university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a private university and in a leadership role.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of students' well-being.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good networking skills with external sports clubs.
